Welcome to the official website of the BSB National SuperStock 600 racer - Tom Young.

Plans for 2012
For the 2012 season, Tom will once again contest the National Superstock 600 Championship and will run under the G & S racing/Team Green banner, under the watchful eye of Mark Fisher who will be building Tom's new Kawasaki ZX-6R.

After a positive test at the Pacedayz event in Cartagena in November, positive leaps were made to the geometry and the general set up of the Kawasaki. And after a 'character building' season in 2011, Tom is ready to bounce back in style for 2012. Testing will commence early March with a shakedown test at Jerez in the south of Spain directly followed by 3 days in Cartagena as part of the British Superbike pro-test. Followed by some UK testing before the first round on Easter weekend at Brands Hatch.

Here's what Tom had to say, "Last year was a massive disappointed, everything looked so promising pre season and then it all went wrong basically! From team issues to bike problems, it all went off, but I guess there's no point dwelling on it, you've just got to pick yourself up and get on with it.

Cartagena in November was a really good test for us and we made good steps forward with the bike and fixed some of the issues we had all season. Its a great chance for me to work with Mark and this ensures me I'll be on a competitive bike and in the right hands.

All of my sponsors have stuck with me; IDM Heating, MW Electrics and Hi-reach access and also my 100 club is coming along great as well and there is still chance to get involved if you are interested, just take a look at the news sections for me details. I cant wait to start testing now after this long winter"

Plans for 2011

For the 2011 season, Tom will move to the Air Racing Team. Along with a change in team the year will also see a change in machinery to a Kawasaki. The Air Racing Team guided Josh Day to glory in the National Superstok 600 Championship in 2010. While Josh makes the step up to the British Superbike Evo class, it is Tom's chance to lead the 600 charge for the team.

Here is what Tom had to say in a latest press release
“I am really happy to be racing with such a professional team as AIR Racing. I believe it’s the opportunity that I have been working hard towards over the last 2 seasons in the British paddock and now we have all the tools needed to do the job this year. I am going to be giving it my all for the team and Ihope to achieve podiums and strong consistent results this season, so bring it on!" said the 19 year old after securing the deal.

Plans for 2010
Tom Young will be competing with CSS motorsport in the National Superstock 600 championship for a second term in 2010. After a tough learning season in 2009, the team are hoping to put the set backs of their recent season behind them and come back stronger and more determined than ever in the new campaign.

Tom aims are to reach the top 10 positions in the opening races before making progress towards the front of the field as the season progresses and has employed a personal trainer to make sure his fitness is more than up to the task of succeeding. Due to the new model of the Yamaha R6 being delayed for another year, the team have decided to keep with the same bikes for another season.

Plans for 2009
After pre-season testing in Jerez (Spain) at the beginning of the year, Tom is racing an '08 model Yamaha R6 in the 2009 National SuperStock 600 support series in the British Superbikes Championship.

For 2009, team CSS Motorsport was formed. With Tom as the rider, his Dad as team manager the team were all set to go. With added support of Joe Richardson and Chris Lange at all the BSB rounds, the team are treating 2009 as a learning year with aims of fighting for the 2010 championship next year.

Tom's primary focus is to compete seriously at British and World Championships and make a career in the sport he feels he was born for. When off the track, much of his time is spent in the garage and the gym, out running, swimming, watching race footage, reading and surfing the racing sites and forums. Despite this dedication he still manages to keep his feet realistically planted on the ground studying for a BTEC in computer sciences and holding a part time job.

Although there has been technical help and guidance along the way from AS Racing and TK Racing, the credit for Tom's successes to date are largely down to a combination of his raw talent, dedication and his dad’s support. They have operated on a very tight budget. To reach and compete at British Championship level more progressive support and substantial financial backing will be needed.
